The International Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation (ICSTI) adheres to the principles of transparency and best practices as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The conference proceedings are published as open-access content, ensuring that all research outputs are freely accessible and reusable under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License. Below are the key elements of our open-access policy, designed in accordance with COPE’s core practices:
1. Open Access and Licensing
The proceedings are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License, which allows:
- Free and immediate access to all articles for any user or institution worldwide.
- Permission to share, copy, distribute, and transmit the articles, as well as adapt and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial uses, provided that proper credit is given to the original authors.
- All articles are fully open access, meaning that they are available online to be accessed, downloaded, and shared without restriction.
2. Copyright Ownership
- Authors retain full copyright over their articles, ensuring they maintain control over the distribution and reuse of their work.
- By submitting to the conference proceedings, authors grant Universitas Andalas a license to publish and distribute the work.
- The proceedings publisher, Universitas Andalas, respects and upholds authors' rights, providing them with appropriate credit in all uses of their work.
3. Ethical Publishing Practices
- The ICSTI conference strictly follows COPE’s core practices to ensure ethical behaviour in all aspects of the publication process.
- Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and improper authorship attribution are prohibited. Manuscripts undergo rigorous peer review to maintain high-quality, ethical standards.
- Authors are responsible for the originality and integrity of their work and are required to confirm that their submission complies with ethical guidelines.
4. Long-Term Preservation and Archiving
- The publisher is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation of all conference materials. Digital archives of the proceedings are maintained and accessible in perpetuity via the institutional repository of Universitas Andalas and Portico.
6. Reuse and Redistribution
- Under the CC BY License, readers and other researchers are encouraged to reuse and redistribute content for educational, research, and commercial purposes, as long as proper attribution is given to the authors and original source.
- Redistribution of adapted versions of the work is permitted, provided that the new work clearly identifies the changes made and gives credit to the original authors.
7. Author’s Rights and Responsibilities

- The Research and Community Engagement Institute of Universitas Andalas organizes the conference, while Universitas Andalas serves as the official publisher of the proceedings, ensuring high editorial standards and compliance with international ethical guidelines.
