The International Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation (ICSTI) ensures that all publications follow ethical standards and adhere to legal requirements regarding copyright, licensing, and publication consent. By submitting a manuscript for publication in the ICSTI conference proceedings, the authors agree to the following terms outlined in this Publication Consent Agreement.

1. Consent to Publish

By submitting your manuscript to ICSTI, you, as the author(s), hereby grant permission to the conference organizers, Universitas Andalas, to:

  • Publish your work in the official ICSTI conference proceedings in digital or print format.
  • Distribute your manuscript under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License, allowing others to share, copy, distribute, and adapt the work for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original authors.

2. Author Responsibilities and Rights

As the submitting author(s), you retain the following rights:

  • Copyright Ownership: Authors retain full copyright over their work. The ICSTI conference does not claim intellectual property ownership; instead, authors grant Universitas Andalas a license to publish and distribute the work.
  • Reuse: Authors are free to reuse their work, including for personal use, educational purposes, or distribution, as long as appropriate credit is provided and any adaptations are appropriately labelled as modified from the original work.
  • Attribution: Authors must ensure that the work provides accurate attribution of all sources, complies with copyright laws, and does not infringe upon any third-party rights.

3. Open Access Policy

In line with ICSTI’s commitment to open access, all published manuscripts will be made freely available to the global community under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License. This ensures that:

  • The research is accessible to the public immediately upon publication without any restrictions.
  • Readers are free to use the work for any lawful purpose, including sharing, adapting, and building upon the work, provided that the original author(s) is given proper attribution.

4. Originality and Exclusivity

By consenting to publication, the author(s) confirm that:

  • The submission is original and has not been previously published in any other journal or conference proceedings.
  • The manuscript is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
  • Any material in the manuscript that is not original (e.g., figures, tables, or excerpts) has been appropriately credited, and permission has been obtained for its use in the submission.
  • In cases where parts of the work have been published in other forms, such as preprints, authors have ensured that proper attribution and citations are provided in the submitted manuscript.

5. Ethical Guidelines and Plagiarism

The ICSTI conference adheres to strict ethical guidelines to ensure the integrity of all publications. By submitting a manuscript, the authors confirm that:

  • The work complies with the Publication Ethics policies of ICSTI.
  • The submission does not contain plagiarized material or falsified data. All ideas, quotations, and material from other sources are correctly cited.
  • The research presented was conducted ethically, and all co-authors contributed significantly to the work and approved the final manuscript.
  • If human or animal subjects are involved in the research, appropriate ethical approvals were obtained and disclosed in the manuscript.

6. Permission for Reproduction and Use of Third-Party Materials

If the manuscript contains material such as figures, tables, or images copyrighted by third parties, the author(s) are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions to reproduce those materials. Authors must:

  • Include a statement in the manuscript specifying that permission has been granted to reproduce any third-party materials.
  • Provide proper attribution to the sources of the reproduced material.

7. Withdrawal of Submission

Authors have the right to withdraw their manuscript from consideration before final acceptance. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the ICSTI organizing committee at icsti@unand.ac.id. Once the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author(s) may not withdraw the paper without reasonable cause.

8. Consent to Edit and Format

By submitting a manuscript to ICSTI, authors consent to the necessary editorial processes. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Peer Review: The manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to maintain the highest standards of academic rigour.
  • Editing and Formatting: The ICSTI editorial team may make editorial changes to enhance clarity, consistency, and readability. All accepted manuscripts will be formatted according to the conference’s style guidelines before final publication.

9. Preprint and Postprint Policy

ICSTI allows authors to archive both preprint and postprint versions of their manuscripts, provided that the source is appropriately acknowledged:

  • Preprint: Authors may share their preprint (the version before peer review) on personal websites, institutional repositories, or preprint servers, with a statement acknowledging the submission to ICSTI.
  • Postprint: Authors may also share their postprint (the peer-reviewed version before final formatting) as long as proper credit is given and the final version is cited once published in the conference proceedings.

10. Indemnity Clause

By agreeing to this consent, the author(s) agree to indemnify and hold harmless Universitas Andalas, the ICSTI organizing committee, and any related parties from and against any claims, liabilities, or legal actions arising from the publication or use of the submitted work. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Any third-party claims of copyright infringement or misuse.
  • Legal issues related to the inclusion of third-party materials in the manuscript.

11. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a manuscript to ICSTI, all authors affirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Publication Consent Agreement. Submission of the manuscript constitutes full acceptance of these terms and the conditions outlined in the ICSTI’s policies.

If you have any questions or require further clarification about the terms of this agreement, don't hesitate to get in touch with the ICSTI organizing committee at icsti@unand.ac.id.
